Lighter Than Vapor

Psalms 62:9

“Surely men of low degree are [a]a vapor,
Men of high degree are a lie;
If they are weighed on the scales,
They are altogether lighter than vapor.”

It’s so easy to get caught up in status, fame, degrees, money… the list continues on. The enemy wants to drive us to go after things that in reality mean nothing.

But notice what the Spirit says … “men of high degree are a lie, men of low degree are a vapor…” This applies to all of us.

Romans 3:23 says that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Isaiah sums it up when he says, “But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousness is as filthy rags.  We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

We must take time and thank God for Jesus. Despite our place in society, without Him we would be nothing.  He alone has secured for us an everlasting home through His precious blood.
